History
Capstone Church was birthed in 1990 as University Park Church under the direction of Pastor Jeff Wickwire. The congregation first met at the Holiday Inn in Fort Worth. After quickly outgrowing its initial meeting place, the church moved to a renovated restaurant near the Trinity River on the west side of town.
In 2001 Parkey Cobern became senior pastor and in 2004 with a committed leadership team the church property was sold to a local developer and the church became Capstone Church. In May of 2008, Capstone Church moved into its current location.
Now meeting in two weekly services - 10 AM Sunday and 7 PM on Wednesdays, Capstone has seen the Lord's vision come to pass. Scores of unchurched and non-Christian individuals have found Christ as their Savior. And many Christians have been helped to discover their God-given gifts, callings and purpose.
