eldership_willhitePastor Bob Willhite - Prayer

Dr. B.J. Willhite, author, preacher and teacher has now completed 55 years of ministry. He has served as pastor of several local churches. In January 1979, while pastoring an Assembly of God Church in East Texas, he received a divine commission to call the nation to prayer. To fulfill this call he established an organization called The National Call To Prayer. This organization produced and sponsored daily radio broadcasts which dealt with the dynamics of prayer.

In 1983, Pastor Bob moved to Rockwall, Texas to serve on the staff of Church On The Rock, a church built around a strong prayer emphasis.

In 1987, Pastor Bob was given an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree by President Oral Roberts of ORU. Dr. Willhite may be the only person who has ever been given such an honor for having influenced a National prayer movement. In 1988, Pastor Bob moved to Washington D.C. to establish the National Prayer Embassy. His book, Why Pray?, has now been published in German, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese. Bro. Bob has committed his life to teaching people in all churches of all denominations, what he has learned in the school of prayer, "a school," he says, "from which no one has ever graduated."

Dr. Willhite has traveled with Velma, his wife of 58 years, all over America and other parts of the world sharing what he has learned about prayer as he has walked with God.
